Higher Apprenticeship in Construction Management

This apprenticeship is ideal if you are employed in the construction industry. It enables you to gain a qualification and develop the skills and knowledge required to be a construction operations manager whilst you are working with much less time off-site. You’ll address a broad range of units including: construction technologies, science and materials, site surveying, construction management, law and contracts, environmental technologies, project management. Optional units can also include: computer aided design (CAD), building services, history of architecture and advanced materials.

  • You will need to have either completed a relevant advanced apprenticeship, or have a significant level of prior experience.
  • This course is not suitable for candidates under 18, but is more for individuals with appropriate qualifications or who have been in the industry for a while and are looking to step up the career ladder.
  • All applicants will require an initial assessment and interview. The suitability of your employer will also be determined before you are accepted onto the programme.

You can top up your foundation degree to an Honours degree in Construction; you can do this while you are working. Alternatively you could go on to do other construction or professional qualifications at level 5 and above.
