This evening course is ideal for candidates who want to work as plumbers or other related disciplines in the building services engineering sector.
This qualification does not make candidates fully qualified plumbers, but it does form the first part of the qualification process before completing the performance elements in a work placement or as part of an apprenticeship. The Level 2 qualification is designed for new entrants to the plumbing industry, providing them with the basic skills and experience they need to progress to further study and eventually employment. The Diploma will be assessed through practical assignments and online multiple choice tests. It provides an excellent combination of practical and theory based work and gives students the footing needed to succeed in the Plumbing industry.

Initial assessment and an interview will be part of the recruitment process and it is expected that the candidate will either have GCSE Grade C certificates in English or Maths, or demonstrate that they are working at that level through the initial assessment process.
Applications from students that have completed a Level 1 qualification will be considered provided they can demonstrate they are working at the necessary level. An aptitude test for physical tasks is also essential for this course.
Progression onto the level 3 City and Guilds 6035 or into related plumbing areas. This qualification also forms part of the Plumbing apprenticeship framework and can be used towards the completion of a full Plumbing apprenticeship.
