It is expected that a student will have completed a Level 1 qualification previously in Engineering or a related subject. If they have not completed the qualification, then students must have sufficient industrial experience, or be working engineer willing to study outside of the prescribed hours. A diagnostic will be carried out, along with an interview prior to starting the course, which will give the applicant an opportunity to discuss entry requirements. It is expected that applicants will have a reasonable level of maths and English to be able to cope with the course content.
Students who complete this course could move onto the C&G 2850 Level 3, the BTEC Level 3 or into an Apprenticeship.
