Certificate in Skills for Progression Entry Level 3

Do you need tailored support in developing the skills needed to enter the workplace?

This one-year course is a great start for people with moderate learning disabilities and young people who are not quite ready for mainstream education.

With the support of your tutors, you’ll be equipped with the tools improve your independent learning and employability skills.

Through a variety of units, you’ll learn how to explore job opportunities and deal with problems in daily life.

As part of the course, you will complete a work placement with a local employer. Plus, studying towards Functional Skills in English, Maths and ICT.

All applicants will be required to attend an interview and/or assessment with a course tutor.  Applicants should be able to demonstrate that they are working at Entry Level 3, and be able to access a mandatory work placement indepedently following some initial support.  

Paid or Voluntary employment or mainstream vocational course.

Maths & English Requirement

English and Maths is a mandatory part of the 16-19 study programme.
If you have GCSEs in English and Maths at:

  • A* - C or 4-9 - You will continue to study English and Maths but do not have to take another exam.
  • D or 3 - You will need to resit your GCSE English and Maths at college.
  • E, F or G / 1 or 2 - You will study for Functional Skills until you get to Level 1. Then you will take GCSE English and Maths.
