Carpentry and Joiner Apprenticeship Standard

This Apprenticeship is ideal for aspiring carpenters and joiners looking to develop their knowledge and skills in the workplace.

The following units are mandatory:

QCF641 - Conforming to General Health, Safety and Welfare in the Workplace
QCF642 - Communicate with others to establish productive work practices
QCF643 - Moving, Handling and Storing Resources in the Workplace
QCF16A - Manufacture Routine Bench Joinery Products in the Workplace

Optional units - You will need toselect 1 from the following:

QCF13 - Set up and use Circular Saws in the Workplace
QCF14A - Produce Setting out Detail for Routine Bench Joinery in the Workplace Pathway for Plastering Solid

The selection process will include an Initial Assessment and an interview, during which your suitability, commitment and interest for the programme will be determined. You will also need the following: GCSE A-E /initial assessment entry 3 and above /working in industry/ interview & skill scan.
Your employer will need to demonstrate that they have the necessary Health and Safety arrangements in place to satisfy legislative requirements, and that they are able to provide you with the full range of work to successfully complete the Apprenticeship framework.
