BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Music (Performing)

The course includes group and solo performance work, the use of specialist technology for performance and production, development of musical skills, academic study along with seminars with industry specialists and practising musicians.

4 GCSEs at grades C/GCSE grade 4 or above including English Language and/or Maths. Or a Level 2 related qualification. All applicants will need to attend an interview.

On completion of this course, students can progress to higher national qualifications or university degree programmes. Alternatively, they may wish to seek employment straight away.

Maths & English Requirement

English and Maths is a mandatory part of the 16-19 study programme.
If you have GCSEs in English and Maths at:

  • A* - C or 4-9 - You will continue to study English and Maths but do not have to take another exam.
  • D or 3 - You will need to resit your GCSE English and Maths at college.
  • E, F or G / 1 or 2 - You will study for Functional Skills until you get to Level 1. Then you will take GCSE English and Maths.
