GCSE Biology provides the basis for studying A-level Biology or a general background for those wanting to specialise in one or more separate sciences. It is a modern course that will stimulate students' interest in how science works.
The course is split into units, which cover topics such as:
• New methods for producing plants and animals with preferred characteristics
• Human characteristics and patterns of inheritance
• How dissolved substances get into and out of animals and plants
• How biology has helped treat kidney disease

To study this alongside your main subject, you will need to have obtained Maths and English at grade C/grade 4 or above. Interview and initial assessment at an appropriate level. If you are over 18 this can be studied as a stand alone subject.
