Looking to start a career as an assistant teacher or learning support?

Our Level 2 certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning prepares trainee assistant teacher to support in a wide range of contexts.

The course meets the needs of a range of trainees, including those not currently teaching or training, and individuals who have just begun teaching or training.

During the course, your performance will be observed and assessed, with feedback provided to help you improve student and pupil engagement, as well as learning outcomes.  

You'll study part time in college for 30 weeks, plus attend a placement for a minimum of 10 hours per week per week until your assessor feels you have reached a sufficient level of skill.

To gain a place on this course you need to be working at a minimum level 1 with an intention to work towards level 2 / GCSE “C” for both Maths and English.
