Access to Higher Education Diploma: Science

Our Access to Higher Education Diploma: Science course prepares students for study at degree level. If you would like to go to university but left school without the qualifications you need, then an Access to HE course could be for you.

Alongside preparation for higher level study, you will also study various science related modules including chemistry, physics and biological, environmental and forensic science.

For further course information click the download button.

Applicants will already hold English and maths at GCSE grade 4 or above before the start of the course.
Many universities will also insist on a GCSE Science at grade 4 or above, therefore we highly recommend applicants also hold this prior to the start of the course. An initial assessment of numeracy and literacy will also be carried out alongside an interview.
It is expected that students will be fully committed as the course requires personal study and homework.

The OCNWMR have consulted the following Higher Education Institutions, who have given their support in the development of a AVA Diploma in Science and provide relevant progression opportunities:

  • Birmingham City University
  • Staffordshire University
  • University of Wolverhampton
  • University of Worcester

*Please note, some universities may ask for additional qualifications
