Talk English courses enable people who’ve never had the opportunity to learn English, access services and get involved in the community.

These courses help people to improve their speaking, listening, reading and writing skills in English.

We also offer a programme of regular Talk English activities for people learning English, so they can meet others, practice speaking English and do something fun and different.

All courses and activities are taught and supported by volunteers, who are recruited, trained and supported by project staff. They’re run in community centres and schools around Walsall.

All of our courses are for beginners to entry level 1.

Become a Talk English volunteer

We train and support people to volunteer as ESOL teachers or Talk English Friends.

We’re looking for enthusiastic, committed volunteers who want to make a real difference to people’s lives. This is a great opportunity to gain experience and develop your skills. You’ll also get to meet people from all over the world, learn about other cultures and be part of a really exciting project.
