Students’ Career Takes off with Wizz Air
A Walsall College Air Cabin Crew student has got her career off to a flying start after being offered a job with European airline, Wizz Air.
Daina Gavenaite has only just completed her completed her Level 2 course at the college and is now celebrating double success following a successful interview with the airline.
Daina,20, said: “I couldn’t believe it when I received the phone call to say I had got the job. I chose this course as I have always liked the idea of travelling and working as part of a cabin crew team. I just didn’t think it would happen so quickly!
“The course really helped me during the interview process as throughout the year we have covered a lot of different role plays and completed mock interviews. We also had the chance to meet professionals working in the industry and gain more knowledge about the role and how to stand out at interviews, which helped a lot.”
Curriculum Manager for Travel and Tourism at Walsall College, David Higgins, said: “An important element of our courses is ensuring students feel prepared for the world of work by the time they complete their studies. Daina’s success is testament to this. We are very pleased for her and wish her every success in her career.”
