Spotlight on Talent – Kerrera

Winning a prestigious industry award for her barbering skills was a highlight of Kerrera Browne’s time at Walsall College. She was named Fellowship Award winner at Concept Hair Learner of the Year 2026, and this propelled her towards progressing into her dream career as a freelance barber.

“The Fellowship Award was the first winner announced by Concept Hair on the day of the competition.  I’d heard my name called out but it didn’t really sink in.  My tutors were the ones that had to tell me to go to the stage to collect my award.  I don’t think I’d have moved from my seat otherwise!

“Receiving so many prizes like hairdryers, clippers, trimmers and brushes, a year’s membership with the Fellowship for British Hairdressing and an industry upskilling experience felt incredible.  It made me hungry for more success.”
