Spotlight on Talent: Carl Willetts
Carl Willetts
Motor Vehicle Level 2
“The practical skills and experience I gained at Walsall College helped me to land a job as an Apprentice Technician with well known car manufacturer, BMW.”
“I didn’t know that much about cars before I enrolled on the Motor Vehicle course, but the tutors know a lot about the industry and made the practical and theory lessons really interesting and enjoyable. The practical lessons were very hands on and I got the chance to get under the bonnets of cars and take engines apart myself rather than just watching things being done.”
“I love my current role as I get to work on modern cars fixing a range of different problems. As part of my training I also attend the BMW Academy to help me develop more in-depth knowledge of BMW technology, which will help me to progress.”
“I would encourage anyone looking to follow a vocational route to come to Walsall College to help them achieve their career ambitions. The tutors know their stuff and can really help you develop your knowledge and experience. The workshop facilities are also very professional and similar to those in the industry which improves your confidence when you enter the workplace.”
