V6- Vocational Sixth Form
V6 – A Sixth Form with a Difference!
We all learn in different ways, some enjoy the academic route (normally GCSE and A level), others prefer a more hands on approach to learning…
If this describes you, there are a range of vocational courses – from BTECs and NVQs, to Diplomas and Apprenticeships – that can get you to University or help you get a good job.
What is V6?
Walsall College’s V6 is a different kind of 6th form. As a vocational 6th form, it provides all the benefits of a traditional 6th form but with a strong focus on vocational skills and qualifications.
As a member of V6, you will enjoy the new found freedom of college life, coupled with the personal support of a tutor to help you achieve your career goals.
You will have access to excellent teaching in world class facilities and will experience a full programme of activities; from your main area of study, to work experience, Student Union events and Enrichment, so you can have fun as well as work.
Vocational qualifications are not second best!
In almost all cases, you can achieve the same goal with a vocational qualification as you can with academic study. So whether you’re driven by going to university or getting that dream job, you can get there the V6 way!
Jamie Oliver, Karen Millen and Alesha Dixon all opted for vocational courses, and just look at what they went on to achieve!
