Wisemore Campus is open for business!
Walsall College’s brand new, £64 million Wisemore Campus opened for learning in September and got off to a fantastic start, with record numbers of students enrolling on courses.
The world class campus provides students with a truly inspirational learning environment, containing a series of state of the art academies that have been created in partnership with leading organisations, including Microsoft, Apple, Roland DG, Roland Music and Francesco Group.
Walsall College’s vocational courses supply students with the skills, knowledge and experience they need to succeed in the workplace, turning them into Walsall College Graduates; skilled, professional and enterprising.
Not only did the Wisemore Campus open for learning, it also lived up to its reputation as Walsalls College, by opening its doors to the public to utilise its commercial facilities: the Graduate Salon of Hair & Beauty, Jerome’s Restaurant and the Academy Health Club.
Staffed by Walsall College students and providing excellent service at extremely reasonable prices, these facilities provide students with a real working environment in which to develop and polish their professional skills.
Organisations from across the local area have also been hiring out the Colleges Meeting Place facilities for a range of meetings and conferences.
Principal and Chief Executive of Walsall College, Amarjit Basi said, “Wisemore is a spectacular building, the first of the transformational regeneration projects under way in Walsall, that will provide a seedbed for skills and enterprise.”
“Our facilities are world class, second to none, and will further enhance Walsall’s reputation as one of the Midlands’ leading centres for 14 to 19 vocational education. We truly believe it is not simply ‘our college’, it is Walsall’s College, and that’s why we want to share it with the diverse communities of the town.”
