Before designing the website, students had the opportunity to speak to representatives from ECOSURV UK to gain an overview of their requirements. Students then used their knowledge and experience to produce some extremely innovative and inspiring ideas.
Andrew Cutler’s winning design was chosen by representatives from the company after much deliberation. The design was selected for being easy to navigate and use, whilst being eye catching and informative. Andrew has been presented a prize of £100 by for his exceptional web design.
Mark Price commented, “I was very interested in working with Walsall College ICT students to bring some innovative fresh ideas and skills to the company’s marketing strategy”
“After speaking to Walsall College tutors, I realised this was an opportunity for the company to give students a chance to realise their ideas through a live brief. I was very impressed by the high standard of work produced by students. Choosing a winner wasn’t an easy decision, however, Andrew’s contribution matched the brief as well as being professional and exciting
Walsall College ICT Tutor Ranjit Singh Jagdev added, “The competition was a fantastic way for students to expand their web development skills further and gain real hands-on experience with the specialist web packages.
“Joint projects and competitions with local employers ensure our students are equipped with the necessary skills and experience they will need to succeed in the world of work. It gives them practical experience of working to a live brief and producing a high standard of work to a set deadline, which will be invaluable to them as they begin their careers in the ICT industry”.
