Pieces of You
Performing Arts students at Walsall College embarked on a musical exploration of love on 17th and 18th March with their innovative play, Pieces of You. The show was devised by year one actors and performed in Walsall College’s theatre space, The Venue.
The play was an eclectic mix of songs and dances adapted from film and theatre, including excerpts from Chicago, Blood Brothers, Romeo and Juliet, Once on This Island, He’s Just Not That Into You, When Harry Met Sally, Best of Friends, Skins and Hitch. Students also performed original scenes created by the students and their Director and Performing Arts Tutor, Sarah Morgan.
Sarah commented: “The Play explores the different themes of everyday love. This show is the culmination of several months of research and study of various film scripts and theatre plays with the central theme of love.
“The students have devised Pieces of You as an exploration of this theme, with a multi-disciplinary approach of acting, singing and dancing, as part of their musical theatre unit. This is a demanding show and the students have worked hard to create an innovative production, showcasing their performance skills”.
