Business Forum Success

Businesses in Walsall joined together on the evening of Monday 30th March to stand up to the current economic climate by attending the second in a series of new business forums.

Held in Walsall College’s Inspirations Restaurant, the evening forum was specifically designed to suit the needs of local companies, and provided an informal setting for them to gain important professional advice and support, while meeting other employers.

The innovative forums have been set up through a partnership between Walsall College, Walsall Business Parks and Hadens Solicitors in Walsall, and offer local companies the opportunity to gather vital information that could help them tackle the operational and strategic challenges of running a business, as well as thrive through the national economic downturn.

Hadens Solicitors were the main feature of the forum, delivering a presentation about the processes companies should take if they are in a crisis situation and are forced to make redundancies.

Julie Stephenson-Airey from Staging Services Limited in Bloxwich said, “I would like to thank Walsall College and the Black Country Chambers for their hospitality and a well delivered Business Forum. The presentation was informative, followed by a Q & A session which was useful to all types of businesses. I also found it to be a great way to network for prospective customers and suppliers”.

David Handley, Director of P.P.S. Limited in Darlaston said, “I was pleasantly surprised with the Business Forum – the speech delivered by Charles Underwood, from Hadens, was very informative. After the speech came a pleasant meal and plenty of time to share a drink with other business representatives. Many business cards were exchanged and hopefully new friends made”.

Themes for future forums will also include helping small businesses manage cash flow and debtors, and practical strategies for marketing and promotion
