V6 Success Celebrated with Awards
Former Apprentice winner, Lee McQueen joined students at Walsall College on Wednesday 6th July to celebrate the success of V6 students, during the prestigious V6 Awards Dinner.
The event was a celebration of the hard work and achievements of its V6 students. During the evening, outstanding students were presented with Student of the Year Awards for achieving excellence in their area of study, along with an additional award for the overall V6 Student of the Year, which was presented to Health and Social Care student, Ruth Hooper.
Walsall College’s V6 is a 6th form with a difference, providing students with the vocational training to become Walsall College Graduates; skilled, professional and enterprising. The glittering VIP ceremony included a pre-drinks reception, a four course meal prepared by hospitality and catering students and live entertainment.
The guest speaker on the evening was Lee McQueen from BBC TV show, The Apprentice. Lee McQueen won the fourth season of The Apprentice after being hired by Lord Alan Sugar, and became Director of Amscreen, which is a digital signage company that Lee set up along with Lord Sugar. He provides a host of business support to local, regional and national businesses across the UK. During his speech, Lee congratulated the award winners, giving them inspiration to continue their hard work and achieve career success in the future.
Amarjit Basi, Principal and Chief Executive of Walsall College added: “The V6 Awards Dinner was an ideal opportunity for Walsall College to celebrate the fantastic achievements our students have achieved on vocational courses. These exceptional students are real life examples of students who have excelled through vocational learning and are a real inspiration to others”.
