The Big Hello Freshers' Fair
Walsall College marked the start of the 2011/12 academic year by launching our Big Hello freshers’ fair on Monday 19th September, which took place all week at Wisemore and Green Lane Campuses.
The week offered new and returning students the chance to enjoy a range of activities, including a visit by Capital FM for students with interest in music and entertainment, The Move Bus and Wii games.
A huge variety of information stalls were available during the week, including representatives from various driving schools, Black Country Goals and many more.
As Walsall College is committed to supporting the health of our students, free information and advice on health services, a dental bus and onsite Chlamydia tests were available throughout the week.
During the event, the College’s Learner Experience Team were present to encourage students to get involved with college life, with a stand offering information on That Bit Extra, Students’ Union, volunteering, the NUS Extra Discount Card and much more.
Representatives from the College also had stalls promoting services and offers, including the College’s Academy Health Club gym and Graduate Academy hair and beauty salon.
Helen Griffiths, Learner Experience Officer at Walsall College commented, “The Big Hello freshers’ fair was a fantastic success. It was an ideal opportunity for new students to meet each other and discover what Walsall College and the local area has to offer”.
