Students at Walsall College have been embracing national Global Entrepreneurship Week, which has been taking place 15-21 November.

Star of the second series of the BBC programme, The Apprentice, Jo Cameron was amongst the guest speakers throughout the week, giving a presentation about ‘Women in Business’ on Thursday 18th November.

There was also a range of other workshops available to students during the week, to give information and advice on how to embrace the spirit of entrepreneurship and be successful in the world of business.

This included four master classes conducted by Professor David Auckland from the Innovation Lab on Wednesday 17th November, entitled ‘Business Idea Generation Testing’. The master classes involved students bringing their own business ideas to the sessions and analysing them under the expert eye of Professor David Auckland.

In addition to the presentations and master classes, there were a range of information stands in the atrium of Wisemore Campus, with external exhibitors including Breathing Space, The Best of Walsall, Walsave and Your Space.

Global Entrepreneurship Week is a worldwide movement of entrepreneurial people, with millions unleashing their enterprising talents and turning their ideas into reality.

Gordon Mills, Enterprise Manager at Walsall College said: “Walsall College is delighted to be supporting Global Entrepreneurship Week and providing interesting and engaging workshops for students to enhance their enterprise skills. At Walsall College, we are committed to developing students who are skilled, professional and enterprising, and events like this support this further. By developing entrepreneurial skills alongside their vocational courses of study, students are well placed to innovate in the workplace and create new businesses”.
