We have been advised by the University & College Union (UCU) that members of UCU employed by Walsall College will be taking industrial action in the form of a one day strike on Thursday 24 March 2011. The UCU represents many of the academic and academic-related managers at the College and so it is likely that there will be some changes to your teaching activities on this day.

Walsall College will be open as normal on this day and we will make every effort to maintain functions as near to normal as possible.

We are advised that the strike is over two issues:

  • Pay Recommendation
  • The proposed changes to the Teachers’ Pension

Walsall College regrets that it is faced with this industrial action and will take every possible step to minimise the disruption to our learners.
