Graduation Ceremony to Celebrate Success
Walsall College higher education students paraded to Walsall Town Hall in their caps and gowns on Friday 26th November, to officially open their formal Graduation Ceremony.
During the parade, students brought Walsall town centre to life with their achievements, accompanied by Town Crier, Cyril Richardson, who was shouting about their success on higher education courses.
Over 450 attendees were present at the ceremony, including students, family and friends, and College staff. Live entertainment was supplied on the day by talented music students.
The high achieving students received certificates for success on such courses as Higher National Diplomas (HNDs), Higher National Certificates (HNCs) and Foundation Degrees in the College’s five key clusters: Business & Professional, Creative Industries, Digital & Technologies, Health & Public Services and Services to People. Special awards were also presented to students for outstanding achievement.

Patron Award Digital & Technologies – Rehman Ismail
Patron Award Health & Public Services – Katie Barnes
Patron Award Services to People – Kelly Macey
Dinkerbai Patel Award – Dominic Webb
Overall Student of the Year – Kelly Macey
The graduation ceremony ended with tea and cakes in the atrium of Wisemore Campus, served by our Hospitality and Catering students and staff.
Many of the students graduating will now be going on to top up to degree level at university or to put their skills to use in the workplace.
Walsall College Principal and Chief Executive Amarjit Basi, said: “By choosing to study higher education, our students have equipped themselves with the skills, knowledge and experience to succeed, as they go on to study at university or gain employment in their chosen industry.
“All students picking up their certificates at the ceremony should be extremely proud of their achievements and I speak on behalf of everybody at Walsall College when I wish them every success in the future”.
