The Young People In-Company Innovation Programme

The Young People In-Company Innovation Programme is funded by Walsall Council and is helping young people to access unique work placement opportunities whilst supporting local businesses to innovate and grow.

If you are wondering what to do between now and your course start date then this could well be for you. If you are able to commit to working on an innovation project for up to 10 weeks on a part-time or full-time basis we would like to hear from you.

In order to be considered for an innovation project you must be;

• 17-24 years of age
• A UK resident and living in the borough of Walsall
• Currently unemployed; waiting to start college or university; studying at college or a graduate seeking work opportunities
• Able to commit to the project on a full or part-time basis
• Able to demonstrate your ability to use your own initiative whilst at the same time showing a willingness to learn and achieve

This is an unpaid placement but you will be reimbursed for travel. Please send/e- mail you’re CV and we will then call you to an interview, where if successful you will be allocated an innovation project in your particular area of experience/interest.

What are the benefits to you?

You will potentially experience a number of key benefits from taking part in a project, including the development of advanced employability skills and innovative and creative problem solving skills. The experience will also be invaluable in adding strength to your CV and which could significantly increase your chances of finding an employer placement whilst studying.
