Dino Set for Distance Learning

This week, the owner of a sign making business in Malta flew into England to undertake training at Walsall College’s Roland DG Sign Making Academy.

Dino Portelli, who has previously completed a two day vehicle wrapping course and a PhotoShop course at the College, has been so impressed with training, he has decided to begin a level 3 sign making course here.

After a one week intensive training session, Dino will now return to Malta to compile a portfolio of evidence and he will then fly back at the end of the course for final assessment. Dino will also be supported throughout the year by contact with lecturers through e-mail, Skype and phone calls.

Dino commented: “I chose to study Sign Making at Walsall College’s Roland DG Sign Making Academy because we don’t have courses like this where I am from in Malta.

“The most important thing to me has been how much I have learned here, as well as the hospitality and kindness of the staff, who have all been very supportive. The course will help me be more professional in my sign making business in Malta and will allow me to pass on what I have learned to my staff.

“The approach at Walsall College is professional and they are very good at dealing with people from different cultures. The equipment is very good here; students in Malta don’t have access to these facilities. The new skills I have learned will allow me to run a more reliable workshop and will help me expand the business further”.
