College Wins Centre of Excellence Award

Walsall College has recently been awarded Centre of Excellence status by Prodigy Learning.

During the award presentation at Walsall College’s Green Lane Campus, Walsall College was also announced to be the top performing centre out of the 12 Prodigy Learning Centres of Excellence nationally, having delivered over 1000 exams in the last year.

Prodigy Learning work as a Solution Provider for Certiport and Service Partner for Microsoft in the UK and Ireland. Out of 450 Certiport Authorised Test Centres in the UK, Prodigy Learning has identified 12 outstanding centres who go above and beyond to deliver the most qualifications in Microsoft Office, IC3 and Adobe.

With 1061 exams delivered last year, Walsall College has been named as best performing centre of excellence for 2010.

Matt Lloyd, from Walsall College said: “The IT Academy at Walsall College is delighted to have been awarded with the title of top performing Centre of Excellence by Prodigy Learning. We are committed to providing high quality training to as many people as possible, and this award recognises the excellent work taking place here”.

Craig Bewley, Chief Executive Officer for Prodigy Learning said: “The Centre of Excellence status is rewarded to test centres who deliver more than 250 exams in a twelve month period. To have delivered 1061 exams in a year is therefore an outstanding achievement. Walsall College has been making great links with local industry this year and I am sure the centre will continue with their excellent work in the future”.
