Student Support

Support for International Students

We want you to gain the most from your time at Walsall College. We have links with all academic staff and obtain termly progress reports on each student. This enables us to celebrate your successes and also identify any difficulties that you may be experiencing during your academic programme. The following additional services are available to all our international students to support them through their studies:

Assignment Support

An English tutor will assist you with your assignments in terms of grammar and structure.*The English tutor will also liaise with your main course tutor when required. To get the most from your study, you are encouraged to make use of this valuable support.

Tutorials

All international students are assigned a personal tutor who liaises with the International Team. The tutor will provide academic and pastoral support to ensure that each student enjoys their time and fulfils their potential.

Study Skills

Study skills are also on offer to enable international students to help them adjust to new ways of studying.

Mentoring / Buddying System

We are currently developing a mentoring / buddying system for new students to ease the transition to a new culture and new educational environment.
