Walsall College has a designated Accommodation Officer who ensures that all accommodation has been personally checked to verify that it meets with our stringent safety standards. Students are consulted to ascertain their accommodation needs and the Accommodation Officer will endeavour, as far as possible, to make sure that the accommodation meets with their requirements.

The College does not have its own Halls of Residence, however we are able to offer the following forms of accommodation:

Homestay

Students have a room in a family home with meals provided by the Landlady. This includes bed, breakfast and evening meal from Monday to Friday and all meals, if required, at the weekend. There is no additional charge for gas and electricity but students will be charged for use of the telephone.

Self Catering

Students have their own room while sharing with a family or with just a landlord / landlady. They will have access to the kitchen with storage for food, space in the refrigerator and use of electrical appliances eg microwave, washing machine etc. The cost of electricity and gas are usually included.

Private Accommodation

This usually consists of sharing either a house or flat with other students. Students will have their own room and access to all the facilities in the whole house. All bills including gas, electricity and phone bills have to be paid separately. These costs are usually divided by the students sharing the house.

Homestay and Self Catering accommodation means students will share the accommodation with their landlord/lady. Accommodation agreements are solely between the student and the house owner. The college is not involved in the agreement of a contract. Landlords of private accommodation will require students to sign tenancy agreements.
