Last month, the College had the pleasure of having a number of Russian recruitment agents visit the College. This was part of a national tour of Higher and Further Education establishments, organised by the British Council in Russia. Walsall College was one of just a few institutions to be selected, which is a reflection on our high standards.

The College was delighted to welcome delegates from Moscow, St Petersburg, Tyumen and Chelyabinsk. The purpose of the visit was to showcase our facilities and to share curriculum and best practice within the FE sector.

Sue Reynolds conducted a tour of the College and Academies and it was clear they were very impressed by our state of the art facilities. They also enjoyed presentations by Paul Difelice, Karen Young, Peter Roberts and Garrydene Waldie.

The delegates particularly enjoyed meeting two of our Russian students, Anastasia Pelvitskaya and Dmitry Spiridonov who have been studying with us for almost two years on HND programmes and are both going on to university courses next year.

Karen Young said, “We hope that this visit will further establish our presence in the international market in Russia and we look forward to working with these agents to promote the college and welcome an increasing number of students to study with us”.
