Walsall College is one of the largest and most successful Government Funded Colleges in the UK, as our results are within the top 10% in the country. We are UK Border Agency Highly Trusted Sponsors and our English Language courses are accredited by the British Council.
By April 2012 all private colleges in the UK will have to become Highly Trusted Sponsors.
By the end of 2012 all sponsors will need to have been vetted by the relevant approved Government inspectorate e.g. Ofsted.
The UKBA are removing permission to work during term time from all students who do not study at university or a Government funded further education college like Walsall College.
We want you to succeed with your studies and gain employability skills that will help you to find work after completion of your course. We are offering suitable students who meet attendance and achievement targets the chance to complete 1 years paid work placements after finishing their HND or HNC programmes.
HND
You will get a 3 year visa to study our HND programmes in:
- Business
- ICT
You will study for 2 years and then complete a 1 year paid work placement. The cost of this course is £7,000 per year whilst you study and only £1,000 a year whilst you complete your placement.
HNC
You will get an 18 month visa to study our HNC Programme in:
- Business
- ICT
- Hospitality
You will study for 1 year and then complete a 6 month paid work placement. The cost of this course is £7,000 per year and only £500 during your 6 month placement.
In order to complete the paid work placements, you will need to have a 95% attendance record and must complete the qualification, including the assignment during your placement period.
We will need to be a high calibre of student with good 10 plus 2 grades and a diploma with an IELTS score of 5.5. You will also need to successfully take part in an interview process with employers. You will receive advice and support with CV writing, interview techniques and English Language.
Access to the Health and Social Care courses
We are also offering paid work placements for our Access to the Health and Social Care courses
Access to HE Diploma (Health Professionals)
Access to HE Diploma (Social Sciences)
Access to HE Diploma (Social Work)
These are 1 year programmes and you may either complete the placement whilst you study. The cost of this programme is £5,500 per year and you will need to have an IELTS score of 5.0 with some industry experience or qualifications.
