Walsall College recently welcomed a delegation of senior managers from technical schools in Guangdong, China.

The group were taking part in a professional development visit, organised by the Centre for International Development and Training, which included having short placements at colleges with a reputation for excellence.

During their visit, the Chinese delegates had the opportunity to take part in a range of sessions with Walsall College staff, including a briefing by our senior management team; building and maintaining links with the community and business; and the context of further education in the UK.

Head of International, Manjeet Kumari-Lal, said: “We were chosen to host the delegates based on our excellent reputation and it was a fantastic opportunity for us. We hope to visit each of the Technical Schools in Guangdong and hold recruitment seminars to encourage their students to continue their vocational education at Walsall College.

“The group thoroughly enjoyed each of the sessions and praised the expertise and enthusiasm that Walsall College staff showed. They all commented on the ‘buzz’ and ambience that college had compared to other colleges that they had visited.”
