Helping candidates accomplish a broad range of skills related to pupils welfare/care and behaviour.
This qualification is based on the National Occupational Standards for Supporting Teaching and Learning in schools and is designed for teaching and classroom assistants who work across primary, secondary and special schools. The qualification will help candidates accomplish a broad range of skills related to pupils welfare/care and behaviour e.g. administration, supporting individuals during therapy sessions and promoting positive relationships.
Entry Requirements
The selection process will include a basic Initial Assessment and an interview during which your suitability, commitment and interest for the programme and your ability to achieve the framework will be determined. To be accepted onto the programme you will need to achieve Literacy and Numeracy at a minimum of Level 1 and it is preferable that you have GCSE grades A – C in Maths, English and ICT or equivalent. The suitability of your employer will be determined before you are accepted onto the programme. Your employer will need to demonstrate that they have the necessary Health and Safety arrangements in place to satisfy legislative requirements, and that they are able to provide you with the full range of work to successfully complete the Apprenticeship framework. If you do not have an offer of employment we may be able to assist you, however this can not be guaranteed as demand for Apprenticeship places are high.
Progression
Guidance is available as required for progression after successful completion. Options include an Advanced Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3
