Level 2 Wisemore Campus 36 weeks Full Time
This course is ideal if you wish to pursue a career in the Armed Forces, Police Service, Fire Service, Ambulance Service, Prison Service, Security, Revenue and Customs, Leisure or Youth and Community Work. The Level 2 Diploma is equivalent to four or five GCSEs at grade C, and therefore the workload and academic level reflects this. The structure of the award is such there are milestones within the course where you will be required to be fully up to date with work, enabling you to progress to the end and a successful qualification. Private study is required. You will need to wear a uniform and are expected to attend 100% of your lessons.
Entry Requirements
4 GCSEs at grade D-G or above, a Foundation qualification or Level 1Diploma in Public Services at Merit or above, additionally, you will need to sit an initial assessment, attend a presentation and interview. If progressing to this course from another college course, a reference is required. Additionally, as personal fitness is important to a career in Public Services, a short fitness test may be required. A good attendance record is essential.
Progression
You could progress onto the BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Public Services if your final grades are merits or distinctions.
