Level 2 Wisemore Campus 36 weeks Full Time

This course is for anybody wishing to enter the world of motor vehicle engineering or as a base to enter the world of wider mechanical engineering (such as heavy goods or public transport). The course consists of seventeen units, covering skills in vehicle maintenance and repair, which you are required to complete to achieve the award. Units include: Knowledge of health, safety and good housekeeping in the automotive environment, knowledge of materials, fabrication, tools and measuring devices used in the automotive environment. Students will complete additional Functional Skills qualifications as part of the course. Assessment is continuous through practical assessment tasks, Gola online examinations and completion of a portfolio of evidence. Private study is required.

 

Entry Requirements

Entry onto this course is via an interview, a dexterity test (pass mark 70%), Key skills in literacy and numeracy above Level 1, GCSE results in English, Maths and or Science at grade C or above. Completion of level 2 entrance test.

Progression

Progression from Level 2 is onto Level 3 or Automotive Apprenticeship.
