Level 5 Wisemore 2 years Full Time

An understanding of the media is becoming increasingly essential in today’s society. This is a diverse sector and there are hundreds of different potential careers, ranging from creative and technical roles to commercial and administration based jobs. The development of moving image production is explored through digital video skills and underpinning theory sessions. Students will maximise the use of industry standard media programmes. The course will reflect industry expectations by equipping you with the ability to multi-skill across a variety of practical and theory based applications. Many course projects link with associates from industry. If your interests lie in television, film or animation for example and you are keen to develop your skills via a variety of methods to make an impact, this exciting and comprehensive 16 unit course is for you. By undertaking this HND Media (Moving Image) you will develop your skills to a high level, both personal and technical including:
  • the ability to synthesise a range of concepts, knowledge and skills relating to the media
  • the ability to apply complex theories to practical realistic work situations in the media
  • the ability to self-motivation and the ability to study independently
  • the ability to generate appropriate evidence
  • the ability to engage with complex and/or unpredictable situations in media contexts

Entry Requirements

You must have a minimum of level B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Language (CEFR)
English qualification to apply for a student visa. To study a level 5 qualification you will need an IELTS score of 5.5 (or equivalent) and qualifications at the following levels e.g.
• India – Diploma (from a state board of technical education),
• Middle East – Associate Degree/ Higher Technical Institute Diploma,
• China/ Hong Kong – Chinese University/College Entrance Examination (Gaokao),
• Africa – West African GCE A Level.
You will be required to take part in an initial assessment to ensure that the course and level of study is suited to your ability.

Progression

You can progress to the second or third year of a degree or honours degree depending on the match of the HND units to the degree course in question. Employment or self employment.
