Level 5 Wisemore Campus 2 Years Full Time

The HND Business is a modular business course. It is a nationally recognised qualification which includes a broad range of highly relevant business and management subject areas, making it ideal for those who have started, or are planning to move into, a career in private or public sector business. The course aims to develop an appropriate mix of practical techniques, theoretical understanding and management methods, in order to provide you with a rigorous study of general management, financial techniques and practical skills.

If you are interested in how business is organised and managed and how finance, personnel and marketing can contribute to a successful business then this is the HND is for you.

This qualification will provide training that will equip you with the skills and knowledge which
can support you in taking up professional and management positions in business. This course
will allow you to develop a wide range of management skills which is achieved through the study of key subjects, including Business Strategy, Marketing, Human Resource Management and Finance.

Students are expected to be proactive learners with the ability to conduct research and study independently for a minimum of 7 hours per week in addition to subject teaching delivery. You also have the opportunity to take advantage of the College’s Enterprise Academy and Innovation space, which is designed to further embrace, cultivate and develop your practical application and skills to start-up a new business within the commercial business sector. The HND consists of eight mandatory and eight specialist units.

Homework or private study is required.

Entry Requirements

You must have a minimum of level B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Language (CEFR) English qualification to apply for a student visa. To study a level 5 qualification you will need an IELTS score of 5.5 (or equivalent) and qualifications at the following levels e.g.
• India – Diploma (from a state board of technical education),
• Middle East – Associate Degree/ Higher Technical Institute Diploma,
• China/ Hong Kong – Chinese University/College Entrance Examination (Gaokao),
• Africa – West African GCE A Level.
You will be required to take part in an initial assessment to ensure that the course and level of study is suited to your ability.
