Level 4 Wisemore Campus 1 Year Full Time

This course introduces would be managers to the essentials required of a manager within the Hospitality Industry. The course embraces a broad perspective which encompasses a general overview of the “burning issues” of Hospitality Management and attempts to create a truly current awareness of the hospitality industry.

The hospitality industry is competitive, fast growing and international. It covers everything from deluxe hotels and restaurants, designer bars, catering contractors, specialist catering for sporting and other events, to budget hotels, public houses and nightclubs. Hospitality business management subjects form the core of the course, with additional modules included to provide a wide view of specialisms available.

The qualification offers the opportunity to study subjects which reflect the challenging diversity of the hospitality industry. The subjects offered enable you to study the management of Food and Beverage provision, together with related aspects of Licensed Retail and Leisure and Tourism, too.

A period of industry work experience will be considered according to candidates existing experience. For those with appropriate Industry Experience , this may not be necessary. A dedicated approach with an appropriate and committed amount of private research/study time is a vital requirement for all students joining this course.

Subjects studied are selected especially with today’s students in mind and enable you to maximise your potential and employment opportunities, but could include Marketing, Accounting, Business Law, Business Strategy, plus subject specific modules.

 

Entry Requirements

You must have a minimum of level B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Language (CEFR) English qualification to apply for a student visa. To study a level 5 qualification you will need an IELTS score of 5.5 (or equivalent) and qualifications at the following levels e.g.
• India – Diploma (from a state board of technical education),
• Middle East – Associate Degree/ Higher Technical Institute Diploma,
• China/ Hong Kong – Chinese University/College Entrance Examination (Gaokao),
• Africa – West African GCE A Level.
You will be required to take part in an initial assessment to ensure that the course and level of study is suited to your ability

Progression

Progression to the HND Hospitality Management which, after successful completion, allows progression to the second or third year of a degree or honours degree as part of Walsall College’s Progression Agreement with several local and regional universitie
