Level 3 Wisemore Campus 2 years Full Time
BTEC Applied Science looks at Science in a different way. Instead of working for examinations which limit your interests; this course is assessed through assignments which let you investigate and find out for yourself. Follow your interests to the limit. This is a modular course in which each part is assessed separately through a mixture of practical work, written assignments and presentations. In class you will carry out practical tasks and also your own practical investigations which will help you to apply your knowledge of science to real life situations. You will also be able to have class discussions about topics which are currently in the news and which may have a huge
impact on the World and the Society in which we live. Applied Science focuses on preparing you to understand how Science underpins modern life and will allow you to move on to a wide range of different careers.
Entry Requirements
You must have a minimum of level B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Language (CEFR) English qualification to apply for a student visa. To study a level 3 qualification you will need an IELTS score of 5.0 (or equivalent) and qualifications at the following levels e.g.
• India – Higher Secondary (12 Grade)
• Middle East – Secondary Diploma (Tawjihiyah)
• China/ Hong Kong – Senior Secondary School Certificate
• Africa – West African Senior School Certificate
You will be required to take part in an initial assessment to ensure that the course and level of study is suited to your ability.
