Passport to the Airline Industry

Level 2 St Paul's Campus 18 Weeks Full Time

This programme is designed to give you a working knowledge of the airline industry. You should have an enthusiasm for working within the travel industry, an enquiring mind and a willingness to take responsibility for your own learning. This vocational course allows you to develop the general skills, knowledge and understanding for employment within an airline environment.

The course is made up of thirteen individual qualifications, all of which are recognised by the airlines including Certificate for Airline Cabin Crew, Principles of Airline First Aid, Languages, Galileo, Welcome Host and Certificate in Customer Service to name but a few. There are likely to be visits to travel organisations. These include training days with Thomsonfly and Emirates. It is intended that you will participate in an overseas familiarisation trip. This will cost approximately £250. You will be required to wear a uniform, cost to be confirmed. Some financial support may be available to eligible learners. Homework or private study is required.

 

Entry Requirements

By interview and initial assessment results, plus 3 GCSEs at grade C or above preferably including English Language and Maths, or a relevant Level 2 qualification at Merit or Distinction level. Some knowledge of IT would be useful but not essential. There is a minimum age requirement of 18. Additionally, each airline has its own entry requirements for employment. Learners should have an enthusiasm for working in the travel industry, an enquiring mind and a willingness to take responsibility for your own learning.

Progression

Progression to higher education or employment.
