This course introduces would be managers to the essentials required of a manager within the Hospitality Industry. The course embraces a broad perspective which encompasses a general overview of the “burning issues” of Hospitality Management and attempts to create a truly current awareness of the Hospitality Industry.
The qualification offers the opportunity to study subjects which reflect the challenging diversity of the hospitality industry.
The subjects offered enable learners to study the management of Food and Beverage provision, Licensed Retail and Leisure & Tourism related aspects and subjects, too.
A period of industry work experience will be undertaken as part of the course and is a compulsory element and study unit of this programme.
A dedicated approach with an appropriate and committed amount of private research/study time is a vital requirement for all learners joining this course. Additionally, in order to develop and allow
learners to pursue ongoing employment within their chosen sector, course hours have been designed to take this into account.
Subjects studied are selected especially with today’s learners in mind and enable learners to maximise their potential and their employment opportunities, but could include Marketing, Accounting , Business Law, Business Strategy all tailored to whichever pathway is chosen), plus subject specific modules.
Homework or private study is required.

Entry Requirements
By interview and plus either a BTEC National Diploma, GNVQ Advanced, AVCE, A Levels or equivalent qualifications.
Mature learners’ entry by interview and/or by Access to Higher Education qualification / credits.
Progression
Possible progression to a degree at university.
Job opportunities could include a supervisory position within the hospitality industry prior to advancement to a management role with progression opportunities after satisfactory completion of in-house training
