This course aims to offer you an experience that reflects
professional practice and diversity within Music Performance.

There are many varied roles for individuals within the music industry, including singing, performing, recording, and editing and music management. Rewards for those who reach the top of their profession can be great, but this is a very competitive environment.

The Edexcel Level 4 Higher National Certificate in Music Performance offers the opportunity to specialise within the scope of the units available.

The Higher National Certificate aims to offer learners an experience that reflects professional practice and diversity within music performance.

The course is designed to provide a specialist vocational programme providing opportunities for learners to develop a range of skills and techniques essential for the realisation of a music performance projects. Learners will have the opportunity to perform utilising a wide range of industry standard equipment commonly used in both “Live” and “Recording” environments.

The course may involve exciting opportunities for learners to experience including possible trips to Europe or America.

Homework or private study is required.

 

Entry Requirements

By interview and audition plus A Levels, a National Diploma or Access to Higher Education Certificates in a related subject.

Mature learners without any formal qualifications will be considered with relevant experience subject to interview / audition and portfolio.

Progression

A key progression path for Edexcel Higher National Certificate learners is directly onto the Higher National Diploma or indeed to the second year of a degree or honours degree programme, depending on the match of the Edexcel Higher National units to the degree programme in question.

The course will open up an array of careers within the music and performing arts sectors for example, singers, song writers, music production and composing.
