HNC Graphic Design
Level 4 Wisemore Campus One year full time or two years part time.
This course is designed for learners wishing to progress onto a specialist higher education course in order to take up employment in the graphic design industry.
The course offers a broad experience for design, but focuses primarily on design for print - corporate identity, packaging, editorial, brochure design, and advertising. As well as looking at the practical and production side of graphic design, a great deal of emphasis is placed upon evolving the design. Projects are influenced by live client briefs and possible foreign trips.
Homework or private study is required.
Entry Requirements
By interview plus either A Levels, National Diploma in Graphic Design, Access to Higher Education Certificates or Credits in a related subject or successful completion of a one year Foundation Course in Art & Design.
Mature learners without any formal qualifications will be considered with relevant experience subject to interview.
Progression
A key progression path for Edexcel Higher National Certificate learners is to the Higher National Diploma or second year of a degree or honours degree programme, depending on the match of the Edexcel Higher National units to the degree programme in question.
Successful students could progress to careers in a variety of sectors for example, marketing, advertising, web design, corporate branding and package design.
