BTEC National Diploma in Performing Arts (Acting)
Level 3 Wisemore Campus 2 Years Full Time
There is a focus on the practical skills of the actor/performer, through workshops, and small and large scale performances. Learners will become part of the College’s own theatre company within this course. There is
also an academic element to the course which enhances understanding through research tasks and a written portfolio of work. Learners will keep up to date with their progress through regular tutorials and ongoing assessment of assignment work and special projects. This qualification will give learners the opportunity to experience various technical elements of theatre, including set design and construction, lighting and sound. There may be opportunities to go on theatre trips and backstage tours. Homework or private study is required.
Entry Requirements
By interview and initial assessment, plus an individual acting audition, also, four GCSEs at grade A to C including English and Dance or Drama if possible, or BTEC First Diploma in Performing Arts with strong merit profile. Other performing arts qualifications will be taken into account. Mature learners with prior experience and knowledge are welcome and will be considered on an individual basis.
Progression
Progression for successful learners can lead directly to a place at university or consider employment options.
