BTEC Introductory Diploma in Art, Design & Media

Level 1 wisemore Campus 1 Year Full Time

This course offers the opportunity to gain confidence in various specialisms including Painting and Drawing, 3D
Design, Photography, Graphics and Print Making - Silk Screen. Contextual studies will help learners to understand
a historical and contemporary context in art and design. The course includes visits to exhibitions and art galleries. Assessment is ongoing and through the building of a portfolio of evidence. A final major project completes the units of study. Homework or private study is required and the course offers opportunities to gain further qualifications in Key Skill Communication.

 

Entry Requirements

All applicants will be considered by interview and initial assessment plus artwork portfolio (GCSEs at grade D and below or equivalent would be the ideal entry level).

Progression

Successful completion of this course may lead directly onto the First Diploma in Art & Design.
