Hair and Beauty students learn the hands-on way with real customers in our commercial Graduate Academy Salon. Industry links with the Francesco Group, Wella and local luxury Spa Hoar Cross Hall give them a real edge when it comes to entering the world of work.
This course area was officially graded as outstanding by Ofsted, and some of the reasons for this included:
- Teaching in practical lessons is outstanding and enables students to make rapid progress. Students demonstrate outstanding salon etiquette and many work at a level beyond that required by the course.
- Students make rapid progress and quickly learn how to complete complex tasks such as advanced foiling, nail extensions and electrical body treatments.
- Resources to support learning are outstanding and the commercial hairdressing and beauty salons reflect the very best of industry standards and practices.
- Progress is frequently monitored with students and apprentices benefiting from a highly effective electronic tracking system that enables teachers, students and, where appropriate, employers, to review progress and plan improvements.
Our hair and beauty courses provide plenty of hands on experience working in our commercial salon making students ready for work once they complete their course. Many of our students have gone on to work for employers such as the Francesco Group and Wella.
