Lyndsey Booth
BTEC Level 3 in Applied Science
I used to work in an opticians but after I had my son, I decided I wanted to go back into education to re-train. I have always been fascinated by human biology and so decided to study science at Walsall College.
I have really enjoyed my course, especially taking part in fun activities like the Science Fair and a CSI forensics day. The course covers a lot of different areas, including biology, chemistry, medical physics and forensics. Science is everywhere and it’s good to know how everything works.
I have had to go into hospital a few times during my studies but I haven’t let that stop me from achieving to the highest standard, and even won the Adult Learner of the Year Award for my area.
I now plan to study human biology or biomedical science at university and I eventually want to be a science teacher, where I hope to be able to pass on the skills my tutors have given me and help others achieve their dreams.
