Tim Johnson
I was Executive Director of Regeneration at Walsall Council and a member of the Council’s Corporate Management Team, who have overall responsibility for the strategic direction, performance and development of the Council.
I was specifically responsible for the Regeneration directorate at Walsall Council with over 1,000 employees and budget of £36 million. The directorate encompasses a wide range of services including Physical Regeneration; Property Services; Planning and Building Control; Economic Development; Strategic Transportation and Housing Services.
This year I took up the role of Strategic Director of Education and Enterprise at Wolverhampton City Council. I am the corporate lead for Sub regional working, specifically co-ordinating regeneration activity across the four Black Country Local Authorities; lead LA officer for the Black County Consortium and the Local Enterprise Partnership.
Prior to becoming Executive Director at Walsall Council in March 2005, I was Assistant Director from January 2004. Previous to this I was Head of Economic Development at Doncaster MBC with lead responsibility for the £100m Transformational Investment Programme. Previous to this I undertook a wide variety of regeneration roles at Liverpool City Council and London Borough of Hillingdon.
I have a BA (Hons) from Liverpool John Moores University, an MSc from the University of Strathclyde and have recently successfully completed a Masters in Public Management at Warwick Business School.
